Ramzan ka Chand

A few nights ago I was walking to my local shops and I caught sight of the crescent moon, hanging amid the clouds, its silvery curve staring down over the city like a knowing smile.

There is something peaceful about seeing the moon in the silent night sky; gliding through the milky darkness, unhindered by the worldly problems which plague our daily lives.

I stopped for a moment to take in the scene. All around me was strangely quiet, yet not eerie, but placid.

In some ways the moon is like a guardian angel to all of us; it is the same moon that we see, regardless of where in the world we are. We all look upon it together, regardless of the differences that may divide us here on Earth. It looks back at us, not judging, always kind, sometimes young, keen and smiling, sometimes old, full and bloated… but always peaceful.

In this most beautiful month of the year, Ramadan, I invite you all to take just five minutes out of your evening and sit alone, stare at the moon, and think. Think about the lives we lead; think about how blessed we are; think about how much promise the future holds. And be at peace.

Ramadan Mubarak.

(Happy Ramadan)

Lovely post my friend. I was feeling a bit off over the weekend, decided to take myself off for a walk through the sculpture garden at the NGA to regroup. It was way to cold to sit out and look at the moon. I realized, was reminded that there will be obstacles, there will be doubters (I had a friend unsubscribe *ouch), there will be mistakes. But with hard work, there are no limits. It was just the thing I needed to get back on track with things.

    Pinning your picture. Its beautiful.

Hope you had a rippa weekend. Hugs. 🙂

Awww thanks Anna! Hope you’re having a better week this week…. there will always be ups and downs in life, but some things, like hard work, and the moon, are constants <3
