Sydney’s spectacular St.George OpenAir Cinema opens tonight, with the premiere of Australian film Tracks.

One of our favourite things to do in Sydney in summer, you can watch the sun set over the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House while munching on a tasty meal from the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Restaurant. As the sun sinks into the harbour, the screen rises and the movie starts, with one of the world’s most beautiful harbours as a backdrop.

As with many of the sessions, tonight’s premiere is sold out. Starring Jane Eyre‘s Mia Wasikowska, Tracks documents the journey of twenty-something Robyn Davidson, who in 1977 trekked thousands of kilometres from Alice Springs to the Indian Ocean accompanied by four camels and a dog.

For more information about this very special and quintessentially Sydney experience, go to St.George OpenAir Cinema’s website. This year’s season finishes on Saturday 15th February.

Outdoor cinemas are one of my favorite things. We have quite a few of them in NYC over the summer too! Hopefully, I’ll get to Sydney soon and be able to check out a movie with the harbour in the background!
