2014 Aircel Chennai Open to begin today

Chennai Open LogoThe 2014 Aircel Chennai Open is to begin today, with Nungambakkam’s SDAT Tennis Stadium to be packed out over the next week for India’s only ATP tournament.

Somdev Devvarman and Yuki Bhambri carry India’s hopes in the singles, while Leander Paes is India’s veteran star in the doubles. Paes is paired with Italian Fabio Fognini, according to Zee News.

Kannadiga Rohan Bopanna will also team up with his Pakistani partner, Lahori Aisam-ul-haq Qureshi, as top seeds  for the doubles.

Finals for most events are to be held next weekend.
