With eTramping: Temples of the World

It was bound to happen eventually: after my rash of guest posts on eTramping.com last year, I couldn’t wait to collaborate with the awesome Cez Krol and Agness Walewinder again!

Some travellers in Asia report suffering from ‘temple fatigue’; when you’ve seen so many temples that they start to lose their intrigue, and you start wondering whether the next gilded lingham is as attractive as that air conditioned coffee shop you spotted a block back.

But what is your favourite temple in the world? The one that refreshes your enthusiasm, that stands out from the pack of stupas, bas reliefs and golden caskets, and became the prayer hall that beat the frappuccino?

I, along with Vanessa of the Travelling Colognian, were invited to nominate our favourite temple from around the world. Naturally, I chose the most fascinating Katas Raj temple complex near Chakwal, Pakistan, while Vanessa chose the captivating Lama Temple in Beijing, China. Click here to read more!

Agness and Cez from eTramping.com are committed to experiencing the world as ‘tramps’; that is, living on the road for less than $25 a day (and, at a stretch, less than $10 a day!).

I totes understand the ‘temple fatigue’ you speak of, experienced it on my travels around south east Asia at Christmas time. But… that only happened after seeing the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar, it was, in my humble opinion…. THE temple of all temples to see. #saystheexpertontemples

Hope you had a stella weekend my friend, happy week ahead too.

The Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar is definitely up there in terms of spectacle… it really left an impression on me. And there’s one high in the mountains of Yunnan in China, which I went to – I think it was called Felaisi Temple – the temple was nothing amazing, but the location was stunning.

Hope you’re doing well – my weekend was great, now back to the daily grind :/
