liebster awardUrbanDuniya got nominated for another Liebster Award, the second in a six months! To say I’m feeling chuffed right now is an understatement! Thank you to Anna Johnston of shenANNAgans for nominating me!

Here’s the idea; get some exposure for your site, while offering others the chance to share their knowledge! This is what you have to do:

  • Mention the blogger who nominated you in your Liebster Award post.
  • Answer 10 questions that the blogger gave you.
  • Nominate 10 new bloggers who have less than 200 followers.
  • Let the nominees know you’ve mentioned them.

Here are Anna’s ten questions for me!

1. Chocolate, Strawberry or Vanilla?

Chocolate all the way! Although I do like vanilla…

Oh yeah... did I mention that I like chocolate?

Oh yeah… did I mention that I like chocolate?

2. What’s your dream holiday destination?
The Hunza Valley

The Hunza Valley

The Hunza Valley in northern Pakistan. It’s my favourite place in the world <3

3. What’s your signature dish?

Lamb birayni. I don’t even make it properly, but my recipe tastes good, and doesn’t require too much effort – I love breaking my Ramadan fast with it too.

4. Which song always gets you on the dance floor?

Bad Romance by Lady Gaga. Shocking, right? I’ve done karaoke versions of it, danced to it on a dancefloor, in a car, in the back of a minivan careening along the Karakoram Highway…

5. Who would star as you in a movie about your life?

Ok so here’s the thing – I don’t watch many Hollywood movies, but I know about Indian actors. Ayushmann Khurrana would be my pick – I really like how he plays humility.

6. If you were to invite a famous person to your house for a meal (any meal) — who would it be, what would you prepare, and why?
Kate Bush (Image: Trevor Leighton) and Atif Aslam (Image: Wallbeam)

Kate Bush (Image: Trevor Leighton) and Atif Aslam (Image: Wallbeam)

It would have to be one of my two favourite singers – Kate Bush or Atif Aslam. I’d cook ridiculous amounts of their favourite dish, then in return make them sing for me!

7. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring three things, what would they be & why?

A pillow (sleep is my favourite pastime), a good book (to keep me from going mad) and my phone, loaded up with pictures of all my favourite people and things.

8.When you just want to make something simple, quick, and delicious, what do you prepare?

Dhal (lentils) – but I’m still perfecting my recipe!

9. What’s your favourite meal?

They’re not my all time favourites, but these days I’d say chicken karahi (Pakistani braised spiced chicken), and sajji (chicken stuffed with salty rice).

Chicken Saji

Did someone say saji?!

10. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I would love the ability to simply disappear – from awkward situations, annoying conversations, undesirable places… if only!
