Today I’m pleased to announce the official launch of my UrbanDuniya YouTube and Vimeo channels, expanding my work from writing and photography to the duniya of music and video. In May, I worked on a soft launch of the UrbanDuniya video concept, with the release of eight profile videos of eight personalities discussing why they love their cities. Of course, the focus was on Melbourne, Lahore, Sydney and Chennai. Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll take a look at each video individually, and see why each person is such a great representative of their home town.

These videos, plus the UrbanDuniya logo video, are the premiere clips on what I hope will become another hub and outlet for readers and Melburnians, Lahoris, Sydneysiders and Chennaikers to connect. There will be video from each of the four cities, travel reviews, news stories, music clips and playlists, along with interviews and interesting short stories. As always, my focus is on quality, not quantity, and it’s my vision that the YouTube and Vimeo channels will allow my existing readers to connect in new ways, as well as raising the profile of my blog for newcomers.

Of course, you, the readers are welcome to contribute too – after all UrbanDuniya is not just the name of my site, but a community of readers and followers.

Initially I’d like to introduce the video logo for UrbanDuniya; a melange of images, some famous, some less-so, which evoke the excitement of living in our cities, and the intrepid spirit with which we travel. I must thank my good friend Garry Farmer (“G-Force”) who created the outstanding title theme for UrbanDuniya.
