Turkish Film FestivalAustralia’s Turkish Film Festival is now underway in Melbourne, and on Thursday shifts to Sydney.

This year’s program promises to be “a cinematic delight” according to organisers, with seven key feature films highlighting “the cultural experience of film among the two nations”.

Supported by the Turkish Consulate in Melbourne, the event aims to capture lifestyle issues, attitudes, socioeconomic changes, and cultural and political shifts through the medium of film.

Melbourne’s program is being held at the Palace Cinema Como in South Yarra, while Sydney’s program is at the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington. On 20th December, the program also opens in Adelaide where this year’s festival concludes.

I won’t be able to make it unfortunately – just too busy with work 🙁 I haven’t seen Long Way Home, but it looks interesting. What really grabbed me was Rüzgarlar – I love character study movies 🙂
