Australian geography time!

The Qantas inflight safety videos depict Australia at its most beautiful, and serve as an amazing tourism commercial for inbound travellers, as well as those viewing online as the video goes viral.

Lets take a look at the two videos (2016 and the impressive 2017 edition), find the locations where they were shot, and plan a trip to all of them! Where would you like to go?

Tooborac, a sheep farming town northwest of Melbourne

Stanwell Tops, coastal cliffs between Sydney and Wollongong

Alice Springs in central Australia

Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart

Bondi Beach in Sydney

Hamilton Island, a resort in the Whitsunday Islands, off the coast of Queensland

Yarra Valley, a wine-growing region near Melbourne

Melbourne, the Victorian state capital

Deep Well Station in “outback” central Australia

Josephine Falls in the hinterland of tropical north Queensland

Cradle Mountain, in a national park in central Tasmania

Exmouth, a fishing village on the north western coast of Australia

Purnong, a town by the Murray River, part of Australia’s longest river system

Lake Lefroy, a salt lake south of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia

Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island in Queensland

Fremantle, the port district of Perth

St Kilda Pier in St Kilda, bayside suburb of Melbourne

Hunter Valley, a wine-growing region north of Sydney

Surfers Paradise, the urban centre of the Gold Coast, and home to Q1, one of the world’s tallest residential buildings

Melbourne, regarded as the fashion capital of Australia

Sydney Harbour with the crew of Wild Oats XI, a Sydney-Hobart winning yacht

Cape Banks at La Perouse, a Sydney suburb near where the first fleet landed. The dance is specially choreographed by the Bangarra Dance Theatre, an indigenous contemporary dance company.

Kings Park, connected with the Perth Botanic Garden in central Perth

Uluru, part of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in central Australia, currently hosting the Field of Light art installation

Mt Ainslie, a lookout in Canberra, the national capital

Moreton Island, home to Tangalooma Resort, near Brisbane

Mindil Beach in Darwin which hosts “sunset markets” in the dry season

Salamanca Place, home to a Sunday morning produce and craft market in Hobart

Cape Hillsborough, north of Mackay in Queensland

Mt Hotham, one of Australia’s highest ski resorts

Barossa Valley, a major wine-growing region north of Adelaide

Port Lincoln, a fishing town in South Australia whose airport terminal was completely rebuilt in 2013

    I flew Qantas last month, they really are a great airline to fly with, very much on brand. It was a great experience. And I remember thinking the video was AWESOME! I have been to a good many of the locations featured and want to visit the rest of them too. How amazing is Australia?!
