Sydney’s annual Good Food Month begins today with a tempting lineup of culinary delights and events.

Among this year’s events are a series by Copenhagen chef Rene Redzepi, whose restaurant has thrice topped the list of the world’s fifty best restaurants. ‘The Great Australian Dinner’ at The Star on October 27 will feature Redzepi speaking at the event, which is headlined by leading Australian restaurateurs including Neil Perry and Kylie Kwong.

Shoot the Chef is another feature event composed of action photography from kitchens in Australian restaurants and homes. The competition’s finalists will be on display at The Star from October 10 until the end of the month.

The Sydney Morning Herald’s Growers’ Market is turning 15 this year, and is celebrating with a free party at Pyrmont Bay Park on 5th October. The much-loved annual Night Noodle Markets in Hyde Park will also be making a welcome return from Wednesday to Saturday on the second, third and fourth weeks of October. This year marks the 15th year of the Night Noodle Markets, which are designed to resemble a southeast Asian hawker market.

Sausage sizzles will be the order of the day this Saturday on Barbecue Madness day, with events of various cultures across the city and New South Wales.

Other events include The Breakfast Club, a program of innovative breakfast menus in cafes around the city; Parramatta Lanes, a journey around Parramatta’s hidden alleyways; Grand High Tea at Radisson Blu Hotel; and a wide range of classes.
