The annual Sydney edition of the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival is held in the harbour city today, after yesterday’s Melbourne event.

The St Jerome’s Laneway Festival began in Melbourne’s Caledonian Lane in 2004, featuring a lineup of indie music acts. Since then it has grown to cover eight cities around Australia,, New Zealand, Singapore and the USA. Sydney’s inaugural event was held in 2006.

Since its humble beginnings, the Laneway Festival has now grown too large for the tiny laneways it once occupied, and instead now takes over sections of a suburb. Sydney’s event is to be held at the Sydney College of the Arts in Rozelle.

The year’s lineup includes Sydney-based band The Jezabels, New Zealand’s Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and recent Grammy Award-winner Lorde.

Tickets for Sydney’s Laneway Festival are already sold out. For more information about the event, or for upcoming Laneway Festivals, go to the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival website.
