The Colours of Bhutan

Bhutan is a riot of colour and art, both natural and man-made. Colourful prayer flags fly from mountain tops, garudas spring off monastery walls and ordinary houses are decorated with motifs and phalluses. Over the past few weeks I’ve published a lot of writing from my trip to Bhutan a few years ago, but now it’s time to let the pictures tell the story.

Same I would say for Sikkim – prayer flags, monasteries, crockery, flowers…colors are everywhere in these awe-inspiring places.

The colors of Bhutan remind me of Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet. I absolutely adored exploring the temples and taking pictures of the walls. Great gallery, Tim! The picture of elderly man and a prayer wheel at the National Chorten, Thimphu took my breath away!

It looks a lot like what I imagine Tibet to be like, although I imagine Tibet to be much drier and colder. Thanks for stopping by, Agness! And yep, I was so glad when I got that click 😀
